Sooner Start

Sooner Start is Oklahoma’s Early Intervention program for families of infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) who have developmental delays.  Sometimes children have special needs or health issues that may put them at risk for a developmental delay.  SoonerStart can help you learn about and enhance your child’s development, find information and community resources, and connect with other parents through support groups.  The services available through SoonerStart are provided by qualified personnel, including:  child development specialists, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, registered dieticians, speech and language pathologists, social workers and many others.

SoonerStart professionals in your community can provide an evaluation of your child if you are concerned about his/her development.  If your child is eligible for services, SoonerStart can provide them in your home or child care location at no cost to you.  For more information, please call the Sooner Start Tulsa office: 918.835.8691.
